Kettlebells
Kettlebells
Kettlebells are a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. The ultimate tool for extreme all-around fitness. In a study by ACE, the American Council on Exercise, they confirmed that kettlebell training torches calories and builds cardiovascular fitness at the same time it builds muscular strength. High intensity kettlebell training can trigger positive changes in aerobic capacity and muscular development while simultaneously supporting fat loss, allowing exercisers to accomplish more in less time.
Core Strength
Core Strength
Core strength is the foundation from which all other strength comes from. Without a strong core, doing other strengthening is futile. There are many ways to work core conditioning in to a workout program including balance training. The tools can be as simple as working with your own body or adding instability through the use of balls, bands, balance boards, etc. Your body will feel better and as you age you will have more stability and better balance in your every day life.
Muscle Strength
Muscle Strength
We will develop a program designed specifically for you to strengthen your muscles, built upon a strong core conditioning program. Through the use of free weights, bands, balls, and your body weight, I can help you achieve a strong body. It can be fun and playful so that you will want to stay engaged as you work toward your goals.
Balance & Flexibility
Balance & Flexibility
Balance is an integral part of developing core strength. Through the combination of exercises you will in turn create a more balanced body. This improvement in balance will translate in an improved confidence as you go through life with less of a chance of falls.
From flexibility comes strength. It also improves muscle length and tone as well as improving your movement and range of motion. I will show you a variety of stretches for overall flexibility as well as stretches to help pinpoint trouble areas.
50+ Training
50+ Training
As we all know as we age our bodies are not what they were when we were younger. Whether you are dealing with specific injuries or just the natural aging process, care must be taken when working out. Most importantly, if you have not be working out, or it has been a while, I recommend talking with your doctor first. If you have been working out and have any medical issues, including specific medication, injuries or limitations it is necessary to work with them. I will tailor a program that helps you work towards your goals while paying close attention to your specific needs.
